Good afternoon!

On Tuesday, February 26, 2019 Antelope Valley CERT will be hosting a guest speaker from Southern California Edison at the Lancaster monthly meeting. Wayne Williams is a Field Environmental Specialist and has done many CERT presentations, being familiar with what CERT teams do and is a big fan of the CERT program.  He likes to "get good information out so that CERT folks when called out into action know what to look for to be safe." Wayne spent 12 years at San Bernardino County Fire Department – Haz Mat Division...haz mat response team. He has been at SCE for 15 years and is assigned to the field operations section....he responds to emergencies and storms within the SCE territory.

We are extending an invitation to you to join us for an exciting evening! The topics include:

·              Safety info about SCE

·              Brief info on generation, transmission and distribution of electricity

·              Recognition of types of equipment the public and responders may encounter

·              Touch and Step Potential – how to mitigate the hazard
